Wingbits: Decentralized flight data solution

Watching $WINGS. Wingbits is one of the rare crypto projects pointed at a real, cash-generating B2B market rather than at crypto itself. I need to see the tokenomics and generated revenue and business strategy before I size anything.

Wingbits is a Solana DePIN network for aviation data. Aircraft broadcast ADS-B signals (position, altitude, speed) roughly twice a second; operators run home stations that capture them, and Wingbits aggregates and sells the feed. Data consumers can be airlines for route optimization, airports for gate and delay management, insurers, predictive maintenance tools, etc. TGE and mainnet landed together on April 22, 2026. I’m looking now because aviation DePIN is an unfashionable corner of the Web3 market and that’s where best setups live.

Signals:

  • $9.1M raised pre-launch (Tribe Capital, SNZ). Swedish team, several with backgrounds at incumbent Web2 ADS-B providers
  • Korean Air R&D Center collaboration on their ACROSS traffic management platform — a real aviation counterparty, not a crypto partnership
  • The Web2 comparables in this space are profitable businesses, so the end market demonstrably pays for this data
  • Expanding TAM: drones and eVTOL add demand on top of commercial aviation
  • Thin liquidity: ~$22k daily volume on a ~$6M cap, despite Kraken plus Orca/Raydium access. Price discovery is not meaningful yet
  • 50% of revenue routed to buybacks. Token value accrual unproven until there’s revenue to route

Risk: the flywheel is unstarted. Data buyers only pay for dense coverage, dense coverage only comes from operators, and operators only deploy if station ROI clears. $600 of hardware + operating costs against emissions-based rewards must be attractive. If the incentive math doesn’t close, the network stalls before it has anything to sell, and the buyback narrative never gets tested.

Position: watching, no ticket yet. I’m digging into:

  • the tokenomics to see whether operator ROI actually clears
  • the team’s business development strategy to check whether I buy their strategy and vision
